Die Veranstaltung soll mit elementaren logischen Fertigkeiten vertraut machen, die als Hilfsmittel folgerichtiger philosophischer Argumentation unabdingbar sind. Inhaltlich führt die Vorlesung in die Grundlagen der Aussagen- und Prädikatenlogik ein. Dabei geht es insbesondere um die Erfassung von Schlussfiguren und Argumenten sowie um die Analyse von Behauptungen mit logischen Mitteln. Dies erlaubt eine Überprüfung der Gültigkeit von Schlüssen und die Identifikation von Fehlschlüssen. Der Scheinerwerb erfolgt durch die regelmäßige Bearbeitung von Übungsaufgaben in einem Begleittutorium sowie durch die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an einer Klausur.Diese Veranstaltung ist zugleich der Logikkurs der Magister- und Sek-II-Prüfungsordnung.
