Die Vorlesung gibt eine Einführung in die Wechselbeziehungen von Verhalten und Hormonen. Folgende Themenbereiche werden behandelt:
1. Einführung in die Endokrinologie (Hormonsysteme, Bildungsorte von Hormonen, hormonelle Regelkreise, Wirkungsmechanismen);
2. Verhalten und Hormone (klassische Ansätze, Methoden etho-endokrinologischer Untersuchungen, Wechselbeziehungen von Hormonen und Verhalten in verschiedenen Funktionskreisen, Hormone und Aggression, Stress und Psychoneuroimmunologie);
3. Interaktionen von Hormon- und Nervensystem;
4. Einfluss von Hormonen auf die Verhaltensentwicklung (organisierende Effekte von Hormonen).
