Die Grundschule als Schule für (fast) alle Kinder ist in besonderem Maße mit der wachsenden Heterogenität der Schülerinnen und Schüler konfrontiert: Kinder unterschiedlichen Geschlechts, unterschiedlicher kultureller, sprachlicher und sozialer Herkunft besuchen gemeinsam diese erste verbindliche Bildungsinstitution und bringen jeweils unterschiedliche Erfahrungen, Entwicklungsstände und Kompetenzen mit.
Im Seminar werden theoretische Analysen und empirische Studien zu Aspekten von Gleichheit und Differenz thematisiert. Dazu gehören auch Fragen zu den Aufgaben der Grundschule und der in ihr tätigen Lehrerinnen und Lehrer vor dem Hintergrund von Chancen(un)gleichheit und Bildungsbenachteiligung.
