Our memories reflect the accumulation of a lifetime of experience and, in this sense, our memories are who we are. Surely the background of our makeup is determined largely by our genes; genetics sets the range of what we can aspire to be. However, by contrast to generality of genetic limitations, the specifics are a matter of memory (Eichenbaum, 2002).

The lecture is organised each week as a one hour lecture and a tutorial where selected topics from the previous lecture day are discussed with the audience.
