Der Mythos der "Golden Twenties" wirkt bis heute ungebrochen fort. Auf dem Gebiet der Kultur gilt "Weimar" als Synonym für Modernität. "Neues Wohnen", "Neue Sachlichkeit" und Avantgarde, das sind ebenso Stichworte für eine von Ambivalenzen geprägte Zeit wie der "reaktionäre Modernismus". Im Seminar sollen die Entwicklungen in unterschiedlichen Kulturbereichen erarbeitet werden. Literatur, Film oder Architektur können ebenso zum Thema werden wie Entwicklungen in der Malerei oder der Mode.
