Die Vorlesung bietet eine Einführung in Grundlagen der inklusiven Pädagogik aus sonder- und allgemeinpädagogischer Perspektive. Dazu gehören die Klärung zentraler theoretischer Prämissen und Begriffe (Was ist unter einer inklusiven Didaktik und Diagnostik überhaupt zu verstehen? Von welchem Menschenbild, welchen Schulleitbildern etc. wird ausgegangen?) und eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem derzeitigen System sonderpädagogischer Förderung in Deutschland. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt bei Fragen nach den Möglichkeiten einer inklusiven oder besonder(nd)en Förderung und nach den Herausforderungen der Schul- und Unterrichtsgestaltung im Kontext von Inklusion.
