291216 European Court of Human Rights: Recent Cases Analyzed (S) (SoSe 2017)

Contents, comment

This seminar includes:
- an introduction in the European Convention of Human Rights, inter alia the organization of the Court, admissability criteria, general argumentation and principles used by the Court.
- analysis of 6 Grand Chamber cases of the last months, including: ne bis in idem, preventive measure and the right to freedom, lifelong imprisonment and inhuman treatment, expulsion.

Students have to write a case-note by one of the cases as the exam.
