Islamismus und frankophone Literatur
Der religiöse Fundamentalismus islamistischer Prägung stellt eine dringende Herausforderung an Gesellschaften, die seine Glaubensrichtung nicht teilen. Militante Gruppen bedrohen sie mit Unterwerfung oder gar Zerstörung. Europa ist hiervon unmittelbar betroffen, wofür vieles eine Rolle spielen mag. Wie jedoch zu erkennen ist, zielt der religiöse Furor insbesondere auf die Moderne und auf die weltliche Lebensweise, die mit ihr verbunden ist. Der Islamismus scheint die Fortschrittsgeschichte rückgängig machen zu wollen, was allzu leicht auf einen letztlich unversöhnlichen und erbarmungslosen Konflikt schließen lässt. Noch bevor sich die Bekämpfung der Moderne auf Europa richtet, wütet sie schon in den muslimischen Ländern. Die französische und die maghrebinische Literatur in französischer Sprache hat sich mit dem Islamismus intensiv und in prominenter Weise auseinander gesetzt. Im Seminar geht es darum, wie die Literatur das Phänomen diskutiert. Dazu werden ausgewählte Texte u.a. von Michel Houellebecq (Frankreich), Boalem Sansal (Algerien) und Driss Chraïbi (Marokko) gelesen.

Voraussetzung für die Studienleistung ist in erster Linie die stete und gründliche Vorbereitung der in den einzelnen Sitzungen zu besprechenden Texte und Materialien. Weitere Anforderungen werden zu Beginn des Semesters bekannt gegeben.
Die in den Sitzungen zu diskutierenden Texte und Materialien werden auf dem Lernraum der Übung hochgeladen werden.
