Mit der Narratologie hat sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten in der Literaturwissenschaft eine eigenständige Disziplin entwickelt, deren zentrale Theorien im Seminar vorgestellt werden. Was ist Fokalisierung? Wie erkenne ich einen unzuverlässigen Erzähler? Welches sind die 'typischen Erzählsituationen'? Diese und andere Fragen werden zunächst auf der Grundlage der 'Einführung in die Erzähltheorie' von Matias Martínez und Michael Scheffel (10. Auflage, München 2016) beantwortet. Im Verlauf des Seminars werden die verschiedenen Ansätze dann in einem praktischen Teil auf die Analyse des Romans 'Jahrestage' von Uwe Johnson übertragen.
