Den Teilnehmern werden einzeln oder in Gruppen Themen aus dem Lehrplan der
Sekundarstufe II des Gymnasiums oder aus neueren Entwicklungen gestellt.
Hierzu suchen die Teilnehmer geeignete Experimente aus der schulchemischen Literatur heraus und bereiten diese ganztägig im Labor vor. Zu vereinbarten Terminen werden die Versuche den Betreuern und den anderen Teilnehmern
vorgeführt und kommentiert. In der Regel wird ein Kurs in das Praktikum eingefügt, in dem alle Teilnehmer eine Reihe von verbindlichen Experimenten gemeinsam durchführen.
