Dieser Kurs ist originär dem Basismodul 23-LIN-Ma3 des Masterstudiengangs "Linguistik" zugeordnet und behandelt als solcher computerlinguistische Grundlagen. Der Kurs kann ebenfalls von Studierenden des Bachelorstudiengangs "Kognitive Informatik" und der Masterstudiengänge "Intelligente Systeme" und "Interdisziplinäre Medienwissenschaft" besucht werden. Schwerpunkt des Kurses ist die Darstellung der Modellierung im Bereich der automatischen Syntaxanalyse (Parsing).
Empfohlen werden insbesondere Vorkenntnisse zu logischen und algebraischen Methoden der Linguistik, wie sie etwa in den Kursen "Computerlinguistik und Sprachtechnologie" und "Repräsentation sprachlichen Wissens" vermittelt werden.
