Der an der Harvard Universität lehrende Philosoph Michael Sandel ist einer der einflussreichsten Theoretiker der Moralphilosophie und der politischen Philosophie in der Gegenwart. In seinem Buch „Gerechtigkeit: Wie wir das Richtige tun“, das wir in diesem Seminar gemeinsam diskutieren wollen, stellt er nicht nur seine eigene Position dar, sondern führt auch elegant in die wichtigsten Gegenpositionen der Gerechtigkeitsdebatte ein. Im Seminar sollen daher sowohl Sandels Theorie als auch die Alternativkonzeptionen kritisch unter die Lupe genommen werden.
