Statistisch gesehen haben in deutschen Großstädten ca. 50% der Einwohner*innen einen Migrationshintergrund. Der Anteil derer, die in ihren Familiengeschichten mündlich überlieferte Migrationsgeschichten der vergangenen 3-4 Generationen bewahren, ist noch größer. Dennoch wird Migration immer noch sehr oft als Spezialthema oder Anhängsel der deutschen Geschichte betrachtet und nicht als der Normalfall, der integraler Teil der Geschichte ist. 2023 hat das Historische Museum Bielefeld „Migration“ zum Thema einer Sonderausstellung gemacht. Hieran knüpft das Seminar an. Wir werden, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Historischen Museum, und auf Basis der neuesten Forschungsdebatte zur kritischen Migrationsgeschichte zunächst einen Stand zu Bielefelds Migrationsgeschichte erarbeiten. In einem zweiten Schritt werden wir anhand von Methoden der Oral History Recherchewege und Interviewformate erarbeiten, um gemeinsam mit Zeitzeug*innen der Bielefelder Migrationsgeschichte zu forschen. Das Ziel ist es, ein digital-analoges Zeitzeugenarchiv zu schaffen, das in die Museumssammlung eingeht und über die Homepage des Historischen Museums online zugänglich ist.
