230103 Teaching English Language in the Primary School (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

During this course you will get to know the basic principles of teaching English in primary school. We will deal with the theoretical background of heterogeneity, the historical development of English lessons in primary school and different possibilities and concepts for individualised learning.
We will take a deep look at the current version of the curriculum and learn how to plan a unit for English lessons. Throughout the whole seminar we will actively try out several methods, games and rituals to use in the EFL primary school classroom.

Requirements for participation, required level

Please note that students who started their degrees in or after 2023, or for some other reason are studying in the NEW FSB, have to have passed the Language Proficiency Test before taking Profile Module 1 seminars.
