On 18 September this year, the Scottish electorate will be called out for a referendum about whether or not Scotland should leave the United Kingdom. This course will chart the developments, setting in with New Labour's commitment to devolution, which have led to the referendum on Scottish independendence as well as provide an assessment of the outcome.
The relevant literature will be made available at the start of the semester.
