230620 Ovid, Heroides (S) (WiSe 2022/2023)

Die Heroides, eine Sammlung von fünfzehn fingierten, im Versmaß der Liebeselegie gehaltenen Briefen, in denen Frauen der mythischen Vorzeit den fernen Geliebten ihr Liebesleid klagen (Penelope an Odysseus, Briseis an Achill, Dido an Aeneas, Ariadne an Theseus, Medea an Jason etc.), wurden zwischen 15 und 5 v. Chr. publiziert und stellen das zweite Werk Ovids nach den Amores dar. Im Rahmen des Seminars soll die außergewöhnliche Psychologie dieser Briefe, in deren Rahmen ein Mann sich in die Situation von verlassenen Frauen hineinversetzt, fokussiert werden. Thematisiert werden soll daneben auch die in der Forschung ventilierte Echtheitsfrage, sowohl einzelner Briefe sowie die des Gesamt-Corpus.
