In this seminar, we will cover practical and methodological aspects of qualitative data analysis using Atlas.ti. We will focus on working with data from participants’ dissertation projects in order to address concrete issues that may arise during their various stages. This includes:
• Managing qualitative data in Atlas.ti
• Techniques for coding qualitative data
• Writing analytical and theoretical memos
• Strategies for theoretical sampling
• Moving from analyzing data to writing drafts
Please familiarize yourselves with the basic functions of Atlas.ti before the first session. As the seminar relies on practical exercises in which participants work on their own projects, please also prepare your data in a way that allows you to do so.
