Im Seminar widmen wir uns dem mittlerweile unübersehbaren Bereich von Kunst und Gender. Einerseits sehen wir uns an, wie die sich im 19. Jahrhundert formierende Disziplin der Kunstgeschichte Geschlecht und Kreativität verhandelte. Andererseits wollen wir anhand von Lektüren die Diskussionen nachvollziehen, die sich im Zuge der feministischen Kunstwissenschaft seit den 1970er-Jahren um künstlerische Praktiken entwickelten. Die Diskussion um Fragen nach Gender hat sich in den letzten zwei
Jahrzehnten um die Frage nach Identitäten und sexueller Orientierung jedoch weiterentwickelt und Kritik erfahren, auch dies wird Gegenstand im Seminar sein.
Es empfiehlt sich dieses Seminar parallel oder nach dem Besuch der Bestimmungsübung zu besuchen.
