220114 Global History of the Paris Peace Treaty and its aftermath (S) (WiSe 2021/2022)

In this seminar we look at the history of the Paris Peace Treaty of 1919 and its global impact from the Wilsonian moment in colonies and mandate territories, to the establishment of international institutions such as the League of Nations, the International Labour Organisation and the Women's International League of Peace and Freedom, to the division of the former German colonial possessions into A, B and C mandates and the reconceptualisation of colonialism towards economic development.

Requirements for participation, required level

Enjoyment of debating and willingness to actively participate in the seminar. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
