230344 Dylan Thomas: Poems, Short Stories, Play for Voices: Under Milk Wood (S) (WiSe 2015/2016)

The Welsh poet Dylan Thomas died in 1954, he would have been 100 in 2014. This centenary made scholars and critics seriously reconsider his work. This class will deal with several of his poems, with short stories from his Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog and with his famous Play for Voices: Under Milk Wood.

Students are asked to acquire the following edition of Under Milk Wood: Thomas, Dylan 2014: Under Milk Wood. Introduction by Catherine Zeta-Jones. London: Weidenfeld & Nicolson. A reader containing the poems, short stories, letters, and literatue about Dylan Thomas and his work will be compiled.
