Seit der kommentierten Ausgabe von Hitlers Mein Kampf und der Freigabe des Textes ist das Interesse an der nationalsozialistischen Ideologie wieder gestiegen. Ideologien manifestieren sich nicht nur in Diskursen, sondern auch in Bildern und Praktiken. Was ist also eine Ideologie? Und was kennzeichnet die Ideologie des Nationalsozialismus? Wie verhält sich Ideologie zu Propaganda? Das BA-Seminar bietet eine doppelte Einführung zum Thema. Zum einen werden die Studierenden mit dem Ideologiekonzept vertraut gemacht und lernen, es auf das empirische Material anzuwenden. Zum anderen werden anhand von sekundärer Literatur, sprachlicher, bildlicher und filmischer Quellen die Eckpfeiler der nationalsozialistischen Ideologie analysiert. Dazu gehört die Utopie des Neuen Menschen, Rassismus und Antisemitismus, Kriegs- und Opferverehrung sowie das Führerprinzip.
