Diese Einführungsvorlesung versucht anhand der fünf Bücher Mose historisch und literarisch in die Bibel einzuführen. Dabei kommen neben den Texten selbst und ihrem ursprünglichen literarischen und sozialen historischen Zusammenhang allgemeine Fragen des Textverstehens und des Textzuganges zur Sprache, d.h. die sogenannte Hermeneutik. Eine dieser Herausforderungen sind unterschiedliche Deutungen derselben Texte in der jüdischen und christlichen Tradition.

- Bereitschaft zum aktiven Zuhören.
- Vorbereitende Lektüre einzelner Kapitel des Pentateuchs
- parallele Lektüre, z.B. einzelner Lexikonartikel
