Die Veranstaltung bietet einen praktischen Einstieg in die Bildverarbeitung auf eingebetteten Systemen, welche hauptsächlich in mobilen Geräten mit begrenztem Energiebudget zum Einsatz kommen. Um eine hohe Betriebsdauer der mobilen Geräte zu gewährleisten, ist eine ressourceneffiziente Informationsverarbeitung unter definierten Energie-, Zeit- und Kostenvorgaben notwendig. Neuartige System-on-Chip (SoC) Lösungen kombinieren ultra-low-power Multi-Core Prozessoren wahlweise mit dynamisch rekonfigurierbarer Hardware oder mit GPUs. Diese Hardware-Konzepte ermöglichen die echtzeitfähige Verarbeitung der Bildsensordaten bei einem sehr geringen Ressourcen- und Energieverbrauch. Innerhalb des Projektes sollen Anwendungen aus der mobilen Bildverarbeitung implementiert und in Hinblick auf die erzielte Ressourceneffizienz analysiert werden. This project will offer a practical access to image processing in embedded systems that are mainly used in mobile devices with limited energy budget. To ensure a high operating time, a resource-efficient information processing under defined energy, time and cost restrictions is essential. Novel System-on-Chip solutions offer a combination of ultra-low-power multi-core processors with dynamically reconfigurable hardware on the one hand and with GPUs on the other hand. This hardware concepts allow for the real-time processing of image sensory data with low resource- and energy consumption. Within this project mobile image processing applications should be implemented and analyzed regarding resource efficiency.
