239709 Klaus Mann: Mephisto (S) (WiSe 2012/2013)

Klaus Manns schon zu Lebzeiten umstrittener Roman "Mephisto" lässt sich als vieles lesen: Als Künstlerroman, als Entwicklungsroman, als Schlüsselroman, inzwischen auch als historischer Roman - und damit ist die Liste noch nicht vollständig. Kurzum: Der Roman bietet ganz unterschiedliche Lesarten an. Zudem hat das "Mephisto-Urteil" die Rechtsprechung zur künstlerischen Freiheit in Deutschland wesentlich beeinflusst. In diesem Seminar sollen die vielen Fäden, die in Manns "Mephisto" zusammenlaufen, herausgearbeitet werden. Und in diesem Sinne wird auch István Szabós Verfilmung des Romans im Kurs behandelt werden.
