Wir alle wissen, dass eine fiktionale Ente (z.B. Donald Duck) nicht in Wirklichkeit eine Ente ist, sondern bloß in der Fiktion (der Donald Duck Comics). Vielleicht sind fiktionale Enten wie Donald Duck in Wirklichkeit sogar gar nichts.

In seinem Buch Fictional Discourse: A Radical Fictionalist Semantics stellt Stefano Predelli eine ganz ähnliche These für fiktionale Sprache auf, also die Art von "Sprache", die wir z.B. in Romanen vorfinden, oder die wir verwenden, wenn wir über das Ende unserer Lieblingsserie diskutieren.

Predellis These ist, dass das, was wir "fiktionale Sprache" nennen, nicht in Wirklichkeit Sprache ist, sondern bloß innerhalb von Fiktion. Doch wenn das stimmt, was ist fiktionale Sprache dann außerhalb von Fiktion, also in der Wirklichkeit?

In diesem Seminar werden wird Predellis Buch gemeinsam lesen und diskutieren. Das Buch ist wunderbar geschrieben und eignet sich prima als Einstieg in die Sprachphilosophie.
