Ursprünglich wurde die Seminarreihe Medientechnik 1-3 für Studierende der Medieninformatik & Gestaltung entwickelt und seither ständig erweitert.
Es beinhaltet vor Allem Inhalte aus dem Bereich der auditiven und visuellen Medien. Mit der Gründung des Studiengangs Interdisziplinäre Medienwissenschaft wurde das Seminar erneut erweitert und der Schwerpunkt auf Medienkompetenzvermittlung durch Medientechnik gelegt. Medientechnik umfasst insgesamt 3 Module, M1 findet immer im Wintersemester, M2 im folgenden Sommersemester und M 3 als Block des darauf folgenden Wintersemesters statt.
