Important Note: This is a seminar for students of primary school / ISP who study ENGLISH as one of their subjects
The date for the blockseminar might still change slightly, depending on Manon Greenyer's timetable for the second half of the school year.
Please be prepared to attend some of Manon Greenyer's lessons during the week following the blockseminar (18 to 22 March).
In English classes, children often do not have enough opportunities to try out and develop their communicative skills. Encouraging and challenging the children in the area of speaking is therefore always a great challenge, to which special emphasis is placed at the Diesterwegschule in Bielefeld through its bilingual and immersive concept.
In this seminar, the students will have the opportunity to individually promote the children's ability to speak within the framework of a playful AG offer and thus help to grow each pupil´s confidence in a supportive environment. In these AGs, students will diagnose the needs of smaller learning groups and create their own playful exercises to offer additional and individual support and to challenge primary school children in the communication skills.
This seminar is based on a school cooperation with the Diesterwegschule. The support/challenge classes are part of the extracurricular activities offered at that school and will most likely take place Monday-Thursday 15.00-15.45 (time changes are still possible due to school-internal planning processes and will, of course, be communicated instantly via e-mail). Students taking this seminar should be prepared to teach (together with some fellows) on one, maximum two of these days each in the respective time slot - in presence at Diesterwegschule.
Disclaimer: All dates and times may be subject to change due to new schedules at Diesterwegschule.
Important: You will have to allow for some flexibility in your schedules - your actual working times are set depending on the Diesterweg pupils' needs. Keeping only one free afternoon in your schedule may, therefore, not work out in the end.
Please make sure that university e-mails are forwarded properly to your individual e-mail account (if you don't use the university e-mail anyways) and check your e-mails regularly. You will receive important updates from us via e-mail.)

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
A corresponding course offer for this course already exists in the e-learning system. Teaching staff can store materials relating to teaching courses there:
