The present seminar aims to provide, after a historical introduction to the concept of hysteria and the evolution of the concept of hysteria from a cultural, biological and sociological perspective, a detailed description of the psychological, psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions and disorders that had been previously subsumed under the umbrella of hysteria. These conditions and disorders will be reviewed in detail, with respect to their nosology, clinical presentation, screening, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, epidemiology, neurobiology, pathophysiology, neuroimaging, neuropsychological aspects, cultural aspects, preventive measures and treatment and rehabilitation aspects and future research needs and perspectives.
Language of Presentation: The leader will present the didactic material and conduct the seminar discussions in English.
