Die Geschichtswissenschaft hat eine Beziehung zwischen Globalgeschichte und Geschlechtergeschichte lange gar nicht wahrgenommen. Erst in jüngerer Zeit haben Geschlechterhistoriker*innen, die sich Fragen der Globalgeschichte zuwandten, analysiert, wie zentral Geschlecht als konstituierende Dimension auch für globale Zusammenhänge und Verflechtungen ist. Unser Seminar diskutiert Verschiebungen der geschichtswissenschaftlichen Aufmerksamkeit und analysiert anhand konkreter Themen verschiedene theoretische Ansätze. Der Fokus liegt auf der modernen Geschichte seit dem späten 18. Jahrhundert.
