Die Studierenden sind in der Lage, Funktion, Form und Vorkommen von Muskelgewebe zu benennen. Sie kennen die gemeinsamen charakteristischen Bauelemente und können diese in Beziehung setzen zu einer funktionsbedingten Anpassung als glatte sowie quergestreifte Herz- und Skelettmuskulatur.

Die Studierenden besitzen Handlungskompetenz, funktionell bedingte Unterschiede im Aufbau der verschiedenen Muskeltypen in einer einfachen Form-Funktionsbeziehung zu erklären. Sie können ansatzweise eine Verbindung zu Physiologie sowie zu Pathophysiologie des aktiven Bewegungsapparates (quergestreifte, willkürlich innervierbare Skelettmuskulatur) herzustellen.
