Die Strukturale Medienbildung ist eine noch recht junge medienpädagogische Forschungsrichtung, welche auf Basis der strukturalen Bildungstheorie von Winfried Marotzki (1990)Bildungsprozesse und -potentiale im Kontext medialer Architekturen untersucht. Begründet wurde der Ansatz von Marotzki und Jörissen (2009) und versteht sich im Rahmen der Medienpädagogik als ergänzender Entwurf zu Konzepten von z.B. Medienkompetenz. Das Seminar thematisiert primär anhand von Literatur und Vorträgen die Entstehung des Forschungsansatzes und den anhaltenden Diskurs und setzt explizit keine spezifischen Vorkenntnisse voraus.
