Kongruenz / Agreement ist ein dominantes Phänomen in den Sprachen der Welt. Im Deutschen finden wir diese beispielsweise bei Subjekt-Verb Kongruenz ("Die Kinder lieb-en Eis." vs. "*Die Kinder lieb-t Eis"). Ausgehend von den germanischen Sprachen, verschaffen wir uns einen Überblick über Kongruenzphänomene in den Sprachen der Welt. Studierende lernen zunächst verschiedene theoretische Ansätze zu Kongruenz kennen, um diese dann auf verschiedene Sprachen in der Welt anzuwenden. Dazu werden Kongruenzphänomene vertiefend in einzelnen Sprachen behandelt.
