Die Veranstaltung wird auf Basis von Konflikten und Aufstände (vom 'Goslarer Sesselstreit' bis zu kommunalen Aufständen) im Mittelalter dann in der zweiten Hälfte auf den Bauernkrieg eingehen. Zentrale Frage ist: Was bedeutete 'Freiheit' im 16. Jh. (und davor)? Wie lässt sich die massive Gewalt verstehen? etc. Das Seminar versteht sich als quellennah arbeitende Lerneinheit, die an die Vorlesung (14-16) anknüpft, in der die Grundlagen gelegt werden (ständische Differenzierung, Ehre, Bedeutung der Religion ...)
