Der Begriff der Ökonomisierung ist in zeitgenössischen Gesellschaftsdiagnosen allgegenwärtig. Er ist dabei auch ein Kampfbegriff der öffentlichen und politischen Diskussion über gesellschaftlichen Wandel. Im Seminar wird es darum gehen, Ansatzpunkte für eine soziologische Analyse der mit dem Ökonomisierungsbegriff tatsächlich angesprochenen und potenziell darüber hinaus noch ansprechbaren Aspekte sozialen und organisationalen Wandels zu diskutieren. Dies geschieht unter Zuhilfenahme unterschiedlicher Ansätze aus der Organisations-, Gesellschafts- und Sozialtheorie sowie auf der Grundlage von Fallstudien. Im Zentrum steht dabei die Frage nach der gesellschaftlichen Möglichkeit von Ökonomisierungsprozessen sowie nach den Grundlagen, Antriebskräften und Durchsetzungsaussichten von Ökonomisierung in verschiedenen Organisationen und unterschiedlichen sozialen Feldern.
