Religion erfreut sich derzeit eines großen öffentlichen Interesses. Gleichwohl sind ein Großteil der Veröffentlichungen, die ein breiteres Publikum erreichen, von höchst zweifelhafter Qualität (für spezifisch wissenschaftliche Fachpublikationen gilt Anderes). Das liegt nicht zuletzt an einem Mangel an aktueller, methodisch operationalisierbarer und auf gesellschaftliche Praxis angewendbarer Religionstheorie in Deutschland. Dies trifft in besonderem Maße zu, wenn es darum geht, religiöse Akteure als sinnhaft handelnde und zugleich in gesellschaftliche Strukturen eingebundene Menschen theoretisch zu begreifen. Einen Schritt zur Behebung dieses Mangels hat Martin Riesebrodt , auf der Grundlage Max Webers, mit seinem neuen Buch unter dem Titel "Cultus und Heilsversprechen" getan.
In diesem Seminar soll das genannte Buch aufmerksam und en detail gelesen und auf Konsequenzen für den Religionsbegriff sowie für weiterführende methodische Operationalisierung hin untersucht werden.
Referatsthemen werden ausgehängt.
