Die Wechselwirkung zwischen Materie und elektromagnetischer Strahlung ist vielfältig und für viele Anwendungen in Technik und Forschung von entscheidender Bedeutung. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung werden nach einer Einführung in die Grundlagen der Optik und der Funktionsweise von optoelektronischen Bauelementen aktuelle Entwicklungen behandelt. Unter anderem sind folgende Themenschwerpunkte vorgesehen: Ultrakurzzeitspektroskopie und nichtlineare Optik, Erzeugung von weicher Röntgenstrahlung und deren Anwendung, Metamaterialien und Nahfeldoptik.

Die Übungen werden zum Teil praktische Übungen im Labor umfassen.

Requirements for participation, required level

Wünschenswert sind Vorkenntnisse aus "Atom- und Molekülphysik I" und "Quantenmechanik".
