Im Seminar erfolgt ein kurzer Überblick über theoretische Ansätze zur Bedeutung von Sozialraum in Jugendalter. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf die Aneignung von nicht pädagogisierten Räumen. Um sich den Praktiken der Jugendlichen nähern zu können, erfolgt eine Einführung in die sozialwissenschaftliche Methode der (teilnehmenden) Beobachtung und des leitfadengestützen Interviews. Am Beispiel des Bielefelder Kesselbrinks und der BMX- und Skaterszene sollen Beobachtungen und Interviews die Entfaltung von Aneignungsformen des Raumes und Inszenierungen von Szenezugehörigkeiten ermöglichen.
Im Fokus der Betrachtung des Sozialraums Kesselbrink und der dort agierenden Jugendlichen stehen die Ausgestaltung und Bedeutung von Geschlechter- und Medienpraktiken.

Voraussetzung ist die Beteiligung an Beobachtungsaufgaben in der Bielefelder Innenstadt in und außerhalb der Seminarzeiten.
