Lassen sich mathematische Fragestellungen topologisch auf das Studium differenzierbarer Abbildungen zurückführen, so ergeben sich oftmals sehr anschauliche und mit relativ geringem Aufwand beweisbare Aussagen. Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, einige Grundlagen der Differentialtopologie und deren Anwendung auf Beispiele anhand J. W. Milnor's Buch "Topology from the differentiable viewpoint" in Seminarform zu erarbeiten, und die gewonnenen Einsichten in dem begleitenden Vorlesungsteil zu vertiefen.
