"„Ironischerweise wird es […] mit jedem Jahr schwieriger zu beschreiben, was Postkolonialismus als Theorierichtung wirklich ausmacht. Es scheint unmöglich, eine einfache, allgemeingültige Definition zu geben, die bestimmen könnte, was de facto unter postkolonialer Theorie trennscharf zu verstehen ist" heißt es in der Einführung zu "Postkoloniale Theorie" von Castro Varela/Dhawan (2020: 298).
Im Seminar sollen grundlegende Themen der historischen Phase des Kolononialismus mit ihrer bis in die Gegenwart hinreichenden Folgen anhand von Schwerpunktthemen beleuchtet werden, wobei die deutsche Kolonialzeit im Vordergrund stehen wird.
In éinem weiteren Schritt sollen einige der wichtigsten Texte zur postkolonialen Theoriediskussion behandelt werden, wobei allerdings die konkreten Auswirkungen auf die aktuelle Situation der deutschen Sprache in ehemaligen Kolonien und vor allem Folgewirkungen auf den aktuellen Unterricht in DaF/DaZ im Vordergrund stehen werden.
