Das Grundseminar erörtert die Problematik einer Kategorie, die häufig unsichtbar ist und doch eine zentrale Rolle spielt, um Gesellschaften zu konstituieren. Wir werden einerseits Quellen gemeinsam diskutieren, um herauszufinden, ob und wie Geschlecht Quellen konstituiert, ohne dass es explizit angesprochen wird. Andererseits werden wir Archive besuchen, ggf. auch digital, um zu erfahren, wo Quellen zu Geschlecht explizit gesammelt werden oder wie man in anderen Archiven fündig werden könnte.
