Das Ziel clusteranalytischer Verfahren ist es, eine hinsichtlich verschiedener Merkmale undifferenzierte Menge von Objekten (z.B. Personen) in homogene Gruppen (Cluster) zu unterteilen, sodass sich die Objekte innerhalb der Cluster möglichst ähnlich und zwischen den Clustern möglichst unähnlich sind.
Ziel des Blockkurses ist es, theoretische und anwendungsbezogene Kenntnisse hinsichtlich deterministischer Clusteranalyseverfahren zu vermitteln. Auf eine theoretische, lehrbuchbasierte Einführung folgt die computergestützte Bearbeitung von Übungsaufgaben mit Hilfe des Statistikprogramms SPSS. Zum Abschluss werden Clusteranalysen selbständig durchgeführt und die entsprechenden Ergebnisse präsentiert und diskutiert.
