Die neuzeitliche Philosophie des Geistes beginnt mit Descartes. Seine Vorstellungen von Dualismus und seine Substanzauffassung prägen den Rationalismus und werden von Spinoza und Leibniz entsprechend weiterentwickelt und transformiert. Im Seminar sollen zentrale Texte dieser drei Klassiker gelesen sowie deren systematische Bedeutung für die moderne Philosophie des Geistes ausgelotet werden.

Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird für ausgearbeitete Referate oder Essayaufgaben ausgestellt.
