Stata ist die an der Fakultät für Soziologie vorrangig genutzte statistische Analysesoftware. Das Seminar dient der vertiefenden Einführung in die Arbeit mit dem Programm. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, grundlegende Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Stata zu vermitteln und die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern bei einem erfolgreichen Abschluss in die Lage zu versetzen, an anderen statistischen Kursen, in denen Stata genutzt wird, problemlos teilnehmen zu können.
Konkret wird erarbetet, wie in Stata Daten aufbereitet werden können und grundlegende statistische Analysen durchgeführt werden.
