Das Seminar widmet sich politischen Organisationen in der Weltgesellschaft unter besonderer Berücksichtigung von Politisierung, Transnationalisierung, und Expertisierung. Organisationen erfüllen in Politik wie Gesellschaft eine fundamentale Rolle. Sie ermöglichen die Aggregation vielfältiger Interessen, deren zielgerichtete Verfolgung und Artikulation - z.B. über Parteien und Interessensverbände – und sind darüber hinaus auch für die Formulierung und Umsetzung von politischen Entscheidungen unabdingbar. Das Seminar stellt die Frage nach den Gründen einer „Organisationsabhängigkeit“ von Politik in den Mittelpunkt. Organisationsinterne Dynamiken wie auch Beziehungsstrukturen zwischen verschiedenen Formen der politischen Organisation (Parteien, NGOs, Internationale Organisationen, Expertenorganisationen) werden ausgelotet. Anhand ausgewählter empirischer Fälle erproben wir Organisationstheorien – und erschließen so ganz verschiedene Perspektiven auf politische Organisationen als Hierarchien, Problemlöser oder Problemsucher, mikropolitische Gebilde, organisierte Anarchien, Produzenten institutionalisierter Mythen und Bedeutungsträger.
