Beratung ist ein sprachliches Geschehen. Beraterinnen und Beratern kommt die Aufgabe zu, auf dieses Geschehen so Einfluss zu nehmen, dass Beratungsanlässe so bearbeitet werden, dass im weitesten Sinne die Handlungsfähigkeit der ratsuchenden Person erkundet, bestärkt und differenziert wird. Hierbei bestehen die übergeordneten kommunikativen Aufgaben für Beraterinnen und Berater darin, eine kommunikative Struktur herzustellen, eine Beziehung aufzubauen und Inhalte zu thematisieren. Was das heißen kann, soll in dem Seminar praktisch in Form von Übrungen zum Thema werden. Zugleich geht es darum, die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Einflussnahme von Beraterinnen und Beratern auf das Beratungsgeschehen grundsätzlich zu reflektieren.
