Überall zu Hause, nirgends gebunden; dies wird nicht selten als eine ¿Menschheitssehsucht¿ (P. Coulmas) bezeichnet. Die Idee des Weltbürgertums hat durch die jüngeren Globalisierungsdiskurse an Aktualität gewonnen und wird zumeist in der Vokabel ¿Kosmopolitismus¿ (U. Beck) diskutiert. Im Seminar sollen Umriss und Gehalt unterschiedlicher ¿Weltbürgertum¿- und ¿Kosmopolitismus¿- Konzepte thematisiert werden. Zugleich geht es um die Frage, inwiefern ¿Weltbürgertum¿ und ¿Kosmopolitismus¿ pädagogisch sinnvolle Bezugsgrößen darstellen, wie dies gelegentlich in der so genannten ¿transkulturellen Pädagogik¿ aufscheint. Konzepte ¿transkultureller Pädagogik¿ sollen im Seminar mit Bezug auf Schlüsselbegriffe, Ansprüche und Einseitigkeiten kritisch diskutiert werden.
