Der Umgang mit dem Phänomen „Kindeswohlgefährdung“ stellt eine der komplexesten Herausforderungen sozialpädagogischen Handelns in der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe dar. Fachkräfte müssen in der Lage sein, Lebenssituationen von Minderjährigen kompetent zu analysieren, Gefährdungspotenziale frühzeitig zu erkennen und daraus schlussfolgernd Handlungsstrategien zu entwickeln und zu realisieren, um die Gefahr „erheblicher Schädigungen“ von Kindern und Jugendlichen abzuwenden.
Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit dem Konstrukt der Kindeswohlgefährdung als fachlich herzuleitende Hypothesen über zukünftige erhebliche Schädigungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen. Es nimmt Schlüsselprozesse (gewichtige Anhaltspunkte, Prinzipien der Gefährdungseinschätzung, sozialpädagogische Strategien zur Unterbrechung von Gefährdungsdynamiken, Schutzkonzepte in Erziehungshilfen, Inobhutnahmen, gerichtliche Eingriffe zum Schutz von Kindern und Jugendlichen) in den Blick.
