In diesem Seminar werden Methoden der Qualitativen Sozialforschung im Bereich mediensoziologischer Forschungen erarbeitet, diskutiert und angewendet. Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme sind Kenntnisse der Methoden Qualitativer Sozialforschung.
Im Bereich sozialwissenschaftlicher Medienforschungen finden sich eine Reihe qualitativer Verfahren, die sowohl die eigenlogischen Formen der Medien als auch die sozialen und kulturellen Kontexte sowie die subjektiven Voraussetzungen des Umgangs mit Medien untersuchen. Hier haben sich neben der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse die Objektive Hermeneutik und die Konversationsanalyse als rekonstruktive Methoden etabliert, die zusammen mit Verfahren der Bild- und Videoanalyse im Mittelpunkt des Seminars stehen. Neben der Lektüre wissenschaftlicher Texte gibt das Seminar Gelegenheit für die Durchführung eigener kleinerer Projekte.
