Arbeit ist eine Grunderfahrung menschlichen Lebens. Wie die Menschen arbeiten, ist das Ergebnis der gesellschaftlichen Organisation von Arbeit. Eben diese Frage nach der gesellschaftlichen Organisation von Arbeit in unserer Gegenwartsgesellschaft in der Bundesrepublik sowie nach deren Wandlungstendenzen steht im Zentrum der Veranstaltung. Das Seminar führt in die wesentlichen Grundbegriffe und zentralen Kategorien der Arbeitssoziologie ein. Hierfür werden ausgewählte Schlüsseltexte der Arbeitssoziologie behandelt. Darüber hinaus werden aktuelle Forschungsthemen diskutiert. Dabei werden wir schwerpunktmäßig untersuchen, wie sich die größeren Entwicklungen der Arbeitswelt auf der Betriebsebene niederschlagen und mit welchen Konsequenzen für Arbeitnehmer*innen diese Entwicklungen verbunden sind.
Folgende Themenkomplexe werden behandelt:
-die historische Besonderheit kapitalistischer Organisationsweisen von Arbeit
-arbeitssoziologische Kategorien zur Analyse von Arbeit, sowohl klassische als auch neue Perspektiven (Macht, Kontrolle, Arbeiter*innenbewusstsein…)
-Wandlungsprozesse in der Arbeitswelt (von Industrialisierung zu Tertiarisierung und Digitalisierung)
-Arbeit und Unsicherheit (Prekarisierung von Arbeit)
-Arbeit und Geschlecht
-Arbeit und Emotionen
-aktuelle Forschungsthemen der Arbeitssoziologie (Gig Work, sozialökologische Transformation, Care Work…)
