Die Übung dient der Vertiefung des Wissens, das in der Vorlesung zum 17. Jahrhundert im Alten Reich vermittelt wird. Anhand von ausgewählten Quellen und historischen Darstellungen werden sich die Teilnehmer wichtigen Einzelaspekten widmen, darunter dem Problem der "Allgemeinen Krise des 17. Jahr-hunderts", der institutionellen Entwicklung im Reich und in der Territorien, der spezifischen Friedlosigkeit des Zeitalters, der Konfessionsentwicklung und den Frömmig-keitsformen sowie der barocken Kultur.
